About the Job As a Capacity Analyst, you will create accurate and high‑quality planning and performance insight and modelling from multiple inputs and data streams to support choices about how best to utilise our network and to drive decision making across a range of activity and timescales, both within Supply Chain and in Trading and Shops. You will highlight risks and conflicts and work with a broad network of stakeholders to support the resolution or management of these. You will need to be able to interrogate and interpret complex and ambiguous data to create insight in an applied manner; you will script, code and model outputs and then present recommendations to a range of stakeholders. You will create key data and insight which will inform future changes and development in our Supply Chain network, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and prioritise, recommend and drive change, forecast the perceived unknowns providing a view of what is to be expected in the future with accuracy, and form the basis of all operational decisions made in the Supply Chain, and across the business where the operational impact and costs of change are being assessed and understood. Input into longer term development initiatives and projects will also be expected. Key Responsibilities Synthesis of data and reporting from multiple sources, both operational and financial Hypothesis testing through extensive modeling of new propositions, impact of changes in process, sales forecasts, volumes etc. Commerciality – applying operational knowledge of the Supply Chain operation to the data Create insight which clearly articulates a compelling story to aid and inform decision making across the Supply Chain, and to influence decision making across the organisation Analyse data in order to highlight risks and opportunities, as well as then make recommendations of potential mitigations and next steps Customer obsession: The data and insight you generate will form the foundation upon which the Supply Chain operation delivers products and services to our customers, and directly influence how effectively and efficiently it is able to do this. You'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you. Once you've submitted an application the next steps of the process, if successful, will include a one‑to‑one interview. Qualifications Complex data, data mining and technical modelling (Matlab, R, SQL, Python, SAS, BQ) Proven working experience in a Supply Chain or other complex environment, applying exceptional problem solving, numerical skills and commercial acumen to deliver quality insight and analysis Detailed understanding of warehouse operations and business E2E processes Ability to rapidly learn and self‑develop Application Process The application form consists of a CV upload followed by application questions. Internal applicants please check your Workday notifications and see further guidance on the PDW under "Internal application process". We occasionally close vacancies early in the event we receive a high volume of applications, therefore, we recommend you apply early. Benefits & Working Conditions Location: Magna Park Hours: 35 hours, Mon – Fri, Hybrid position with requirement of 2 days in the office Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £44,800 – £67,200 We want all of our Partners to have a good work‑life balance and we support flexible working. This might mean flexible or compressed hours, job sharing or shorter hour contracts, where possible. Please discuss this further with the hiring manager during your interview. Company Overview We're the largest employee‑owned business in the UK and home of our cherished brands, John Lewis and Waitrose.
