Water Engineer | Flood Risk

This is a remote position.Location : Stockport, London, or home-based within the UKAs a Water Engineer (Consutlant, Senior or Principal level) within our growing consultancy, you will lead and grow the Water Environment team to address our clients’ flood risk and drainage challenges, delivering practical and environmentally positive engineering solutions.You will design, assess, and manage water and drainage systems across a variety of projects, including flood risk assessments, surface water management, and sustainable drainage design. You will collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to deliver sustainable, evidence-based outcomes for clients in both the public and private sectors.Who are we?We are Envance, an environmental and sustainability management consultancy driven by our values and core beliefs. By working with our clients and supply chain partners to deliver projects and improve performance, we can create a better world now and for the future.Key ResponsibilitiesLead or contribute to the design and assessment of flood risk and drainage infrastructure projects.Develop and review Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and surface water management strategies.Undertake hydrological, hydraulic, and water resource modelling using tools such as HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE SHE, or InfoWorks ICM.Analyse data from fieldwork, GIS, and remote sensing to inform engineering design and project delivery.Prepare high-quality technical reports, designs, and client presentations.Provide expert advice on water resource management, flood resilience, and drainage design.Liaise with clients, regulators, and local authorities to ensure compliance with technical and environmental standards.RequirementsDegree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience in flood risk management, drainage design, and SuDS delivery.Proficiency in relevant design and modelling software (e.g. Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoWorks ICM).Strong analytical, written, and communication skills.A collaborative, proactive approach and a genuine interest in sustainable water management.Working towards or holding Chartership or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status through ICE, CIWEM, or a similar professional body is desirable.BenefitsDiscretionary profit share scheme33 days annual leave including bank holidays3 paid volunteer days each yearOption purchase additional leaveAdditional leave after 2 years of serviceAn additional day’s leave for your birthdayMonthly wellbeing allowance to spend on a sport or activity of your choiceHealthcare schemeUnlimited training budget with a tailored training planEnhanced contributory pension schemeCycle to work schemeFree parking #J-18808-Ljbffr
