Single Point of Access Administrator Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust – London, England, United Kingdom Salary: £25,500.00 - £26,000.00 Important Sponsorship Information for this post: We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work within our administration team in the Greenwich Single Point of Access Team. This role provides and coordinates a liaison service, receiving and passing referrals and messages from hospitals, GPs, patients, carers and families to Community Nursing staff. This service is an integral part of and a key link in the Community Nursing chain. Responsibilities Receive and process referrals and messages from hospitals, GPs, patients, relatives and other outside agencies via telephone/fax/email. Accurately record referrals, messages and queries on RiO and keep GPs informed of the progress of their referrals throughout the process. Prioritise and handle messages appropriately; non‑urgent referrals/messages will be sent via RiO, urgent referrals/messages will be passed immediately by phone to the StepUp ward or Nursing Team mobile. Track and record all referral outcomes and maintain excel spreadsheets and create word documents. Process incoming mail for the team in a timely manner, dealing with routine correspondence by replying or redirecting as appropriate. Create referrals for service users and/or enter messages or updates onto patient notes directly into clinical systems (Rio). Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of District Nursing and other Community Services, understanding critical calls to enable urgent messages to be passed promptly. On a weekly basis liaise with all Community Nursing staff to determine rota for weekends and bank holidays, informing Queen Mary’s Hospital and other agencies of availability. Provision of on‑the‑job training to new and bank staff. Serve as the main point of contact for GPs and other Health Care Professionals, redirecting to related services as necessary. Maintain records and data for reports for the team, support the administrative lead. Engage in communication via telephone and maintain a sympathetic manner to resolve problems and concerns for health professionals, patients, families and carers. Manage difficult clients, including those that may be distressed. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience within a busy administrative environment, preferably healthcare. IT literacy with experience using computerised booking software and document uploads. Excellent attention to detail and high‑quality data entry skills. Good communication and telephone experience with ability to liaise with patients, clinicians and managers. Computer literacy; majority of referral pathways are via e‑referrals. Collaborative team player who is effective in providing excellent patient care.
