Job Overview Senior Finance Officer (Temporary Maternity Cover) Location: Springwood High School, West Norfolk Academies Trust Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary Fixed Term to 31st December 2026, 52 weeks per year Salary: Scale G Point 18-22 (£31,537- £33,699 FTE) Hours: 37 hours per week Email: recruitment@westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk Website: https://www.westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk/, https://www.springwoodhighschool.co.uk/ Responsibilities Oversee daily transactions recorded by Finance Officer/Finance Assistants, ensure proper processing and arrange corrections if necessary. Provide guidance with daily processing queries raised by Finance staff and budget holders. Ensure all payments are made promptly; highlight, investigate and resolve any overdue payments in conjunction with the school's Finance Officer. Direct and support all budget holders and finance staff in their procurement needs where procedures are explained and followed. Review and highlight any errors, omissions or oversights on the outstanding commitments record. Produce ad hoc reports/excel spreadsheets as required. Ensure all debtors and creditors are monitored and any overdue followed up via the relevant Finance Officer. Carry out periodic reconciliation of all bank accounts (minimum weekly) ensuring all transactions posted at month end. Ensure all invoices have been raised each month in respect of lettings, nursery fees, rentals etc. Produce budget reports where necessary. Complete month end procedures. Ensure compliance with the Academies financial administration and accounting procedures, in accordance with the financial scheme of delegation. Personal and Professional Conduct This role requires flexibility of hours and a flexible attitude to assist others in the team. Workload may not be evenly spread throughout the year. Flexibility in hours and willingness to assist others is necessary. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list.
