Vacancy Survey Technician Location Aberdeen An opportunity has arisen for a Survey Technician to join our client’s Aberdeen base. The successful candidate will report to the Technical & Operations Team Leader and be responsible for learning how to maintain our rental equipment to ensure it is ready for deployment. Initially this will be a base (onshore) role, but as the candidate’s experience and knowledge develop, there will be opportunities to support our clients with offshore operations. The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident "can do" attitude in a fast‑paced environment and must be a team player. They must be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail. Main Responsibilities Preparing and testing equipment prior to rental and post‑hire. Function testing, software/firmware updates, and cable integrity checks. Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists. Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment returned from hire. Visual inspection, function testing and writing technical reports. Identifying in‑house or external repair tasks. Preparing all assets to ensure they are ready for delivery to clients at short notice. General warehouse and delivery duties. Mobilisations/demobilisations (offshore) – checking, inspecting and documenting equipment on mobilisation. Setting up, interfacing and function testing on mobilisation. Troubleshooting to successful conclusion. Assisting offshore survey team as required. Demobilising, checking, inspecting and documenting equipment prior to dispatch back to base. Attending offshore training and undergoing an offshore medical. Requirements of Role Qualified to AL‑Level/Higher Level in maths, science and technology. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to follow procedures and processes correctly. High standard of QHSE in the workplace. Ability to work as a team, taking directions. Ability to work independently and confidently when representing the company at client premises. Flexible and pro‑active approach to working and learning.
