Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. The Role: We are seeking a skilled Propulsion Attributes Engineer to be responsible for developing and specifying roadmap features for charging and connected technologies. Accountabilities: The PED Advanced Propulsion Attributes Engineer is responsible for supporting the PED Lead Engineers with data analysis, competitor futuring and study of market trends to support the definition of Propulsion Efficiency Performance and Driveability Attributes and Features of future products. The role will support the development of new vehicle lines and propulsion systems in line with our brands’ DNA. We are looking for an engineer to add to our dynamic and growing team, with particular focus on competitors futuring and market trends of propulsion efficiency. The successful candidate will contribute to the propulsion efficiency targets definition for future models, supporting the Lead Engineers in the delivery of competitive products. The successful candidate should be someone with good data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to learn and adapt fast, operating under fluid and tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Supports the definition of robust targets alongside Lead Engineers and AGILE Squads within the propulsion engineering department. Supports data analysis by working with digital tools. Supports the delivery of Propulsion Efficiency targets. To support competitor and comparator Attribute benchmarking and futuring. To generate attribute trendlines based on competitors benchmarking data, and help define the competitive positioning of our products. To create, maintain and update digital tools and templates for data analysis and reporting. To interface with propulsion Product Squads and Vehicle Engineering Teams as required. Must understand the physics behind vehicle efficiency, cycle energy demand, electric range, by academic knowledge or direct work experience. Must have significant working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with vehicle data analysis and visualization tools such as MDA, Concerto, CANAlyzer. Experience in using coding and calculation tools and languages: Matlab, Simulink, Visual Basic.
