Join us as an Electrical Substation Engineer and you’ll have the opportunity to accelerate your career, too. You’ll be part of our industry-leading team Transmissions and Distributions teams, acting as partners to our clients, building a deep understanding of their challenges and applying your expertise to solve them.As a Substation Design Engineer you will be working on engineering and construction projects primarily in industrial, transmission/distribution and renewable sectors. You must be able to appreciate complex, practical, regulatory, technical and commercial issues and to work constructively with a broad range of senior stakeholders.Role accountabilities:Client liaison from initial contact through project deliveryDelivering small to medium sized projects throughout project lifecycleProducing electrical engineering deliverables where appropriateLiaise with CAD Engineers to determine safe, cost effective substation design solutionsIn addition, you will assist in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality targets, promoting all facets of Arcadis services during interfaces with. Contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan your role will be key to maintain and exceed our client’s expectations and to build networks within the industry.In a sector that is changing so dramatically you’ll own your journey, expanding your knowledge in areas you’re passionate about and building the right career for you. The role requires a level of flexibility to visit site locations/ client offices across the UK as soon as we are able to do so.Qualifications & Experience:Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical EngineeringExperience working as a substation/plant engineer to regulated industry standardsPreparation of HV Substation primary equipment design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports, programmes and cost estimatingBroad knowledge of transmission technologies and a good understanding of how these technologies influence the operation and performance of the transmission systemCan demonstrate success in delivering engineering and or projects safely to budget, time and quality that meets customer expectationsAbility of working with internal and external parties and working within a strong team-working culture.Experience in writing clear and concise documentation.Why Become an Arcadian?
