Filming Assistant Historic Royal Palaces – London, England, United Kingdom Join to apply for the Filming Assistant role at Historic Royal Palaces. The palaces in our care are in high demand as filming locations for news, documentary and large‑scale film crews. We are looking for a Filming Assistant to act as the first point of contact for small‑scale filming enquiries across HRP’s six sites, organise recce visits, coordinate the filming diary with colleagues in operations, conservation and events, and supervise filming on the ground to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will also assist the Filming Manager with large‑scale filming projects (e.g. TV series, feature films) as required. In all of your work, you will help HRP achieve its charitable aims – maintaining our reputation as an authoritative voice on the history of the sites in our care and bringing their stories to a wide audience in a variety of ways. You’ll also drive income through filming that supports our conservation work. Responsibilities • Act as the first point of contact for small‑scale filming enquiries. • Organise recce visits and coordinate filming diaries with internal teams. • Supervise filming on site to ensure smooth operations and adherence to conservation standards. • Assist the Filming Manager with large‑scale filming projects as needed. Qualifications Relevant experience in film / TV, events management or PR / Communications. Experience working in a busy environment, dealing with incoming enquiries. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to prioritise and manage reactive requests. Reasonable knowledge of the workings of broadcast media, production companies and film crews. Understanding of the importance of conservation when filming in heritage sites – respect for historic environments. Strong interest in culture/heritage or interest in media/ film / TV production.
