Overview This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to work in a forensic community learning disability team. You will be part of the multidisciplinary community forensic team, providing a forensic psychology service including assessment, intervention and evaluations focused on rehabilitation in the community. You will also offer input as required to other services within the forensic and specialist learning disabilities within the Service Line. You will be well supported through regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as training to develop both professionally and personally within the role. There are many CPD opportunities. Responsibilities Have responsibility for the systematic provision of specialist forensic psychology services to adults with learning disabilities and complex, severe and enduring mental health difficulties who may display challenging behaviour or have offending histories. Undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions in these services taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in their professional practice. Ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities (including training others) relevant to the service area. Have regular responsibility for providing supervision to trainees or assistant psychologists in this specialism. Eligibility & Qualifications Experience in a community setting is not required for this role and we would consider newly qualified psychologists or those close to the end of their qualification. The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). Additional Details The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting, is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas. As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month: 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,303 per year and a maximum payment of £2,198 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly).
