The Forensic Occupational Therapy team has been cited for their good practice in leading an ‘Exceptional’ Seven Day Therapies Programme, Smoke Free Strategy, Wellbeing Strategy, Food Strategy and Forensic Recovery College (April 2017). The Forensic Directorate are seeking a Band 6 Forensic Recovery College Lead from an Occupational Therapy background.

The post holder will be a highly valued member of the multi-professional team, involved in the ongoing development of the Forensic Recovery College, building on the success of this clinical innovation in the Bracton Centre and Memorial Hospital. You will be provided with opportunities to participate in projects both within the Forensic Directorate and the South London Partnership. Support, supervision, and training will be provided by the Forensic Occupational Therapy team.
- Lead on delivery of the Forensic Recovery College with South London Partnership and non-statutory organisations
- Work with local third sector led Recovery Colleges to link with students in their recovery journey
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to support students to access Recovery Colleges in the community
- Embed the Recovery College ethos into the Forensic Directorate
- Play an active role in the South London Partnership Forensic Recovery Colleges
- Lead on the audit and evaluation of the Forensic Recovery College using outcome measures
- Be part of the Seven Day Therapies Programme to work on average one in four weekends, either a Saturday or Sunday on a rota basis.

- To manage a clinical caseload with service users who require support to access the Forensic Recovery College
- To be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team
- To provide assessment and interventions via individual and course work related to the Forensic Recovery College
- To lead on the service development with the Forensic Recovery College
- Provide clinical supervision to junior colleagues and OT students on fieldwork placement
- Contribute to and carry out risk assessment and risk management plans
- To work independently without direct supervision

- To support students to access the Forensic Recovery College
- To ensure that up to date electronic and written records are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust standards
- To attend all relevant mandatory training as directed by the Trust
- To contribute to CPD through participation in internal and external training and other development opportunities
- To maintain and update a CPD portfolio
- To contribute to the team’s clinical governance and quality agenda
- To ensure practice is evidence based
- To promote and facilitate offender involvement in own clinical area
- To participate in the development of the Recovery College within own clinical area
