Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a new member of staff to join our team in Substance Misuse on the Edward Myers Inpatient Unit. The role supports the clinical team in providing a meaningful and therapeutic day for the patient group by delivering diversional activities, support and practical assistance without the direct supervision of qualified staff. Activities may take place in either an inpatient or community setting. The post also includes basic nursing and housekeeping tasks if delegated. To excel you will be an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate person who is looking to work within a Trust that is ambitious to perform well. Responsibilities Provide diversional activities and support to patients. Offer practical assistance and basic nursing care under delegation. Maintain a rapport with service users, carers, relatives and visitors to foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Assist in the effective running of the unit. Work collaboratively with other members of the multi‑disciplinary team. Carry out specific tasks involving direct nursing care as required. Qualifications & Requirements Priority will be given to NHS staff across the region at risk of redundancy, where the vacancy is at the same band or one below their current band and who meet the essential criteria for this post. All employees new to the Trust will be subject to a 6‑month probationary period. All clinical staff bands 2‑4 new to the Trust will be required to complete a Care Certificate.
