12 month contract - Inside IR35 £40.49 per hour umbrella (non local rate) / £29.63 per hour umbrella (local rate) 2 days per fortnight on site - the rest remote Job Role Senior Designer: Applies understanding of a range of design processes, tools, systems and techniques, and applies these to design or detail for assemblies components or systems. Designs and develops solutions to common or well‑articulated design situations, problems and issues. Works under limited technical supervision. Functional Knowledge – Requires understanding of design principles and approaches relevant to design activities plus a depth of understanding, knowledge and experience relevant to a specialist area of activity, for example relevant to a department, unit, system, platform, etc. Business Expertise – Has a good understanding of how own activities integrate into the activities of a design team plus an understanding of the work of the design team. Typically requires a limited knowledge of activities of other teams. Leadership – Is responsible for self and quality of own work and safety of self. May be required to perform some on‑the‑job training of new team members. Problem Solving – Is required to make judgements based on own knowledge and experience of similar situations. Must assess the viability and applicability of solutions, evaluate alternatives based on an understanding of common or previous solutions to problems. Nature of Impact – Impact of the job is limited to their own job. Is required to produce work of high quality but this will be reviewed and signed off by others. Area of Impact – Is responsible for the quality and timely delivery of own work. The job has a direct impact on the quality of the overall solution provided by the team. Interpersonal Skills – Requires good communication skills; must understand technical instructions and be able to communicate technical information to others. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Applies proven techniques and procedures to design and develop solutions. Resolves design issues and problems for a range of design situations. Diagnose and resolves operational, repair, installation and commissioning problems and issues. Typically coaches and mentors other design engineers, applies interpersonal skills in communicating technical design matters. Works with a degree of technical autonomy, demonstrates a commitment to professional design engineering principles and values. Requires knowledge and experience in a design subject area. Develop and produce models, drawings and other design outputs consistent with the contractual requirements to meet target dates and budget demands (Delivery to time, quality and budget). Perform self‑verification of own tasks to ensure completeness and quality of information and to arrange checking of work by appropriate team members. Answer technical queries about his/her work within their level of knowledge and competency. EngTech status (or equivalent) plus relevant work based experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
