Our team and the individual we support The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. You'll be part of a small, fun, friendly team who supports an amazing young lady who has a mild learning disability and PTSD. Your main aim will be to provide support with all aspects of daily living; you'll also support her to socialise, maintain relationships and continue to live independently. You’ll play a huge part in helping her to realise her potential, reach her goals, learn new skills and play an active role in her local community and take part in her hobbies and interests. Some of her hobbies and interests include animals, she has her own cat and particularly loves horses, going for walks, knitting, gardening, music, shopping and watching TV & films. Shift Patterns Our 22 hours per week contract will typically involve working one shift per week. The shift may also include a sleepover. Weekends and public holidays will form part of your rota on a rotational basis. Sleepovers do not form part of your contracted hours; for every sleepover you work, you will receive an additional payment of £100.80 About You You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills and will give you all the training you’ll need if you’re successful. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too However, for these particular vacancies, we are ideally looking for drivers, but this isn’t a deal breaker for the right candidates. Legal and Practical Requirements Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
