Process Technician

Process Technician - 12 Hour Rotating Shift Base pay range: $26.00/hr - $30.00/hr This role is a multi-function position responsible for start-up and processing of molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment; participation in sampling of new equipment; and troubleshooting processes to maintain function and quality. The process technician may perform mold setter and machine operator duties as staffing and production demand change. Responsibilities Safely install molding equipment and set up production lines. Follow directions from supervisor/management. Assist in samplings, continuous improvement, and other engineering projects. Operate injection molding machine controls and prepare machines for production. Set up robot positions and perform advanced setup of hot stamp machines, label applicators, in-mold labeling (IML) equipment, robot tooling, material dryers, blenders, color carts, vibratory welders, and cooling fixtures. Perform quality checks and debug robot/machine sequence program issues. Troubleshoot process-related issues with products (e.g., flash, burns, voids, warp) and with auxiliary equipment, robot tooling, and molding components. Use a multimeter to troubleshoot electrical issues. Perform minor repairs on mold tooling and on machine/auxiliary equipment (e.g., clearing flash, cleaning vents, replacing fittings, replacing fuses, cleaning strainers). Conduct line clearances and manage purging compounds to clean the machine barrel and mold. Start up and shut down presses, water cooling, and air supply systems; operate a forklift as needed; maintain safe working conditions at heights. Knowledge and Qualifications Work-safe knowledge of equipment (e.g., crane movements, machine safety, electricity). Ability to work as part of a team or independently on a project without constant supervision. Understanding of advanced injection molding processes from pellet to part. Advanced understanding of machine/robot sequence programming. Advanced understanding of mold tooling.
