The Manufacturing Process Technician will work within the Operations team, you will be involved in the assembly, test and machinery operation. You will use your skills in our new manufacturing facility to support the company’s mission of transforming radiology.
My client is a manufacturing a Medical imaging device which helps patients by enabling early and accurate diagnosis. However, 2D X-rays can be inconclusive as they give a fundamentally limited view of our 3D bodies. 3D images are possible with CT scannersbut these are much more expensive, give a high dose of radiation and moving a critically ill patient to a scanner can be labour-intensive and risky.
Our client is helping make 3D imaging more accessible to the people who need it by producing mobile, flat-panel X-ray systems that can be brought to patients giving low-cost, low-dose imaging.
As a Manufacturing Process Technician, you will ideally have a Science or Engineering HNC or equivalent experience.
The Main duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Assemble parts or components to build a whole new product according to agreed standards and deadlines
- Study, read, understand and follow work instructions, schematic diagrams, blueprints, product manuals and gather information regarding parts, fixtures and tools
- Operate process machinery according to defined procedures
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities according to defined procedures
- Support Line Inventory Control
- Perform regular test and inspection procedures to ensure that the product is formed in accordance with the specifications
- Maintain and update the results related to various tests and inspection procedures conducted regarding the product specification
- Completion of quality control related paperwork and systems
- In future will assist with the training of new technicians
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy working environment and follow protocols to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, conveying these to senior colleagues so that quality of products is maintained
**Skills**:
- Precision mechanical and electronic part assembly, in particular small parts
- Subassembly and complete product testing
- Attention to detail
- Safe use of general hand tools and power tools
**Experience**:
- Machine assembly including small part assembly
- Working in a Cleanroom following all protocols
- Working in an ESD environment
- Working in a regulated industry where quality control is critical
- Manufacture of high-value products
