Advanced Process Control (APC) Platform Specialist Join us as an APC Platform Specialist at Hitachi Consulting (formerly Information Management Group). The role Design, configure, and maintain APC solutions for paper & pulp processes including digester control, bleaching, drying, and stock preparation. Collaborate with OEM vendors to implement and optimize APC algorithms. Monitor APC system performance, drive continuous improvement, and lead integration initiatives. Integrate APC platforms with industrial OT systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and enterprise IT systems (MES, ERP, Historian). Develop and maintain secure data exchange interfaces such as APIs, OPC UA/DA, and real‑time analytics pipelines. Work closely with process engineers, IT, cybersecurity, and OEM partners to ensure system compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity protocols. Train plant personnel on APC usage and troubleshooting. Ensure documentation of system architecture, configurations, and integration workflows. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control, Automation, or related field. 5+ years of APC implementation experience in paper & pulp or similar process industries. Proficiency with APC platforms such as Honeywell Profit Controller, ABB OPT800, Aspen DMCplus. Experience with OT/IT integration technologies (OPC, MQTT, REST APIs, edge computing). Familiarity with industrial protocols and cybersecurity standards (ISA‑95, ISA/IEC 62443). Experience with cloud‑based industrial platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, GE Predix). Knowledge of data analytics tools (Python, R, Power BI) for process optimization. Relevant certifications in APC or industrial automation platforms.
