Experience Years: 3-5 Years of ExperienceEmployee Type: RegularAbout the OpportunityLate shift - 5pm to 2am Maintain all machinery and equipment to ensure high performance levels and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. Contribute towards the design and implementation of schedules for preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and effects on productions. To ensure all regular checks are kept up to date and all relevant paper work is kept updated and stored correctly. To ensure the work shop is kept to the correct standard , and the storing of all chemicals – liquids are stored correctly.ResponsibilitiesAssess site on a regular basis and implement any remedial works required.Ensure site is compliant with health and safety and fire requirements.Make daily checks on all pack house machinery to prevent down-time to support productivity.Carry out regular scheduled maintenance according to programme.Liaise with external suppliers where necessary to obtain engineering assistance or call out requests.Maintain sufficient levels of spare parts and materials to aid repairs.Provide point of contact and assistance to contractors working on site.Where appropriate, train, mentor and cascade key skills to line staff in order to ensure machinery is kept to optimum standards for H&S and line performance.Identify areas of training for machine operators to reduce downtime and machine malfunctions.Keep up to date with changing technologies to ensure that new machine concepts are evaluated and considered.Be mindful of costs and budgets when procuring parts and equipment.Other ad hoc duties as required.Candidate ProfileEvidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industryStrong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challengesAbility to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashionWell developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employeesGood interpersonal skills and well developed leadership and management skillsCreativityAbility to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriateAbility to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural boundariesProactive approach and prompt responses to all service requestsAbility to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable and pragmatic courses of action and solutions, adopting a risk aware approachGood time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as requiredVery good organisational skillsGood IT skills including experience of Word and ExcelAbout DriscollsDriscoll's is the global market leader for fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.
