Project Manager - Safety & Control Join to apply for the Project Manager - Safety & Control role at ITI Group ABOUT THE JOB We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Safety & Control team in Sheffield. In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate build-to-print control panel and major hardware projects across the group. You’ll be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from initial client engagement through to delivery, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong organisational skills, a technical understanding of control and automation systems, and the ability to work closely with clients, engineers, and suppliers to drive successful outcomes. SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project execution. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate and lead project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and status updates with internal teams and clients. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Understand client requirements and specifications for build-to-print control panels and ensure alignment with project deliverables. Manage client expectations and address any concerns or issues promptly. Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project efficiency. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Ensure team members have the necessary tools, training, and support to perform their tasks effectively. Ensure all control panels meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Implement quality control processes and coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any non‑conformities. Conduct regular project audits to ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards. Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost‑effective project execution. Prepare financial reports and forecasts, providing regular updates to senior management. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and corrective actions. Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and stored in accordance with company policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team, encouraging feedback and innovation. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and methodologies related to control panel manufacturing and project management. Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols. Successfully identify and complete all relevant training both in‑house and external, as required. Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of this role. SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS Experience and Knowledge Appropriate Degree in Science or Engineering. Proven project management and team leadership experience. Undertaken a structured project delivery lifecycle as a Level 5 Engineer or Level 4 Project Manager. Minimum 1 year (typically 2‑3 years) successful and productive experience at Level 5 Engineer or Level 4 Project Manager or equivalent. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio. Deep knowledge of Project Planning Tools – e.g., MS Project, Prima Vera. Strong commercial, financial and contract management skills, with experience of NEC and other forms of contract. Use of formal contract management tools (e.g., CEMAR) would be advantageous. Proficient in generation of formal technical documentation for the full life cycle of projects. Good knowledge of IT/OT Solution delivery and of related governance issues. Excellent knowledge and understanding of Quality Management System procedures – able to support Quality Audits for projects. Skills and Abilities Proven project planning and project coordination/control skills. Good analytical skills. Full driving licence. Good leadership skills. Ability to achieve goals through teams and promoting a 'can‑do' attitude. Ability to lead and take on additional responsibility and challenges along with achieving stretching objectives. Ability to estimate, plan and manage complex activities and projects. Ability to estimate time and costs for complex or novel proposals based on experience and norms.
