Scotland’s Railway is part of this large family and covers a sizeable geographical area, from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross‑border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for growth. Location Glasgow, GB Department Scotland Brief Description The Section Planner uses corporate planning processes, systems and databases to develop detailed, fully resourced and optimised work plans for approval by Section Managers. Key Accountabilities Plan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required. Produce Safe System of Work plans. Submit green‑zone access and isolation requests. Produce draft quarterly plans. Manage weekly Plan‑Do‑Review meetings. Represent Section Managers at planning meetings. Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records. Essential Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications Work plan production and resource optimisation skills Scheduling proficiency in work planning/scheduling systems Core Planning Skills Level 2 Knowledge of access and possession processes and systems Safe System of Work planning process and system expertise Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Desirable Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques How To Apply Click ‘apply’ to login and submit your CV.
