You'll be working within Customer Fulfilment, as part of our Supply Chain team, helping reduce costs, to improve operational efficiency across our business processes and supporting the flow of goods to our engineers. This role in a nutshell: Supply Chain is the backbone of our Customer Fulfilment Team. Providing stock to circa.650 engineers across Great Britain, every day, is no mean feat. Being a Supply Chain Specialist puts you right at the heart of this critical operation and plays an essential role in our Customer Fulfilment Team. Collaboration, communication, data mindset, and competence are essential for building a robust and efficient Supply Chain. All of our work needs to be accurate, valid & consistent. The ability to think outside of the box is paramount and all of this helps with key decision-making and drives improved relationships with our engineers, suppliers and key stakeholders. Your key outcomes will be: Analyse & maintain data to assess performance, identify areas for improvement and develop insights. To lead on projects with a cost awareness approach, identifying and delivering ways to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor stock availability, delivery times, taking remedial action as and when necessary. Ensure that all discrepancies are correctly recorded and that appropriate corrective action is taken. Drill into different product types to identify trends and opportunities for cost reductions. Review and analyse returned (e.g. high value) data, while developing corresponding action plans to reduce and eliminate causes and/or cost and drive up reliability. Partner with Supply Chain Development Manager in the communication of stock spend and Quality Assurance policies and procedures: you’ll keep an eye on compliance to prevent fraud and mis-use of company property. Ensure processes are aligned, that best practice is shared and issues are escalated to the Supply Chain Development Manager. Support the communication with the field of stock changes or challenges. Respond to ad hoc requests for data and reporting relating to all stock from internal or external teams. Support the Supply Chain Development Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations ensuring supply chain business results are achieved. Support OVO’s sustainability goals through ethical and environmentally responsible sourcing and distribution. Support and provide cover for team members in times of absence. You’ll be a successful Supply Chain Specialist here at OVO if you… Proven experience of supply chain and operations experience with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts and theories. Use sound judgement to evaluate options, anticipate the impact of decisions and balance multiple factors to identify and implement the best solution. Demonstrates the ability to own and drive projects to successful completion, ensuring delivery of key outcomes by combining personal ownership with empowering others to achieve shared goals. Commercial Acumen - experience of identifying value in the processes that you operate and working to deliver that value. Advanced Excel & Google sheet skills, including ability to report in a succinct way against large volumes data. Are a natural problem-solver who enjoys making complex data easy to work with for others. Experience of working within budget parameters. Strong communication skills with the ability to “keep it simple” and provide clear and concise information. An understanding of the smart metering industry would be advantageous. Are able to pick up new processes, systems and ways of working quickly and effectively.Possess great organisational skills and are able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
