Youll provide 1 : 1 and small group interventions support EHCP reviews and help learners gain independence confidence and positive outcomes. At our centre we aim to create an environment where learning is engaging and tailored to meet the needs of every learner. Job Title Learning Support Assistant Location Basildon Southgate Working Hours 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday 1-hour lunch 37.5 hours per week (Term Time only 38 plus 2 weeks). Some flexibility on these hours may be required. Contract Type Fixed-term contract until July 2026 Reports to Centre Manager Salary Band 21546 gross per annum (FT equivalent 24570) What are we looking for ... Qualifications Qualified to PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) Essential GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above Essential L2 / L3 Safeguarding Essential SEN qualifications demonstrating knowledge and competency with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) Behaviour management training Main Tasks & Responsibilities Provide direct support to learners in both group and individual settings Play an active role in classroom and physical activities alongside tutors Gain on-the-job training with continued professional development (CPD) Assist with lesson preparation schemes of work Individual Student Plans (ISPs) and Care Plans Maintain knowledge of each learners stage of development assessments and support needs Support with educational visits and accompany learners when required Follow and promote safeguarding health & safety confidentiality and data protection policies Safeguarding Prevent & Equal Opportunities TCHC is dedicated to promoting equal opportunities and preventing discrimination for everyone.
