We apply problem‑solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. Sustainable Finance data is increasingly crucial for our clients – providing deeper intelligence than conventional financial analysis alone. At Bloomberg, Sustainable Finance data is displayed alongside fundamental data, backed by news for context, and used to power a growing suite of Sustainable Finance products. As a team, we are responsible for reporting and enhancing Sustainable Finance‑related content for the Bloomberg Terminal and Enterprise products, including company‑reported and normalized metrics, key analytical ratios, industry‑specific metrics, and proprietary scores. Joining the Data department means that you are part of one of the world's leading sources of data, providing accurate, immediate insights for financial market professionals. You will enhance your product knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs, and build relationships throughout the company, all while helping our clients integrate sustainable finance risk and opportunity analysis into their workflows. Key Responsibilities Own data quality and translate business requirements into actionable specifications for new and existing Climate data and score products, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to design and build new datasets. Define technical requirements, design scalable data models for new/existing raw or derived Climate data and analytics products, and ensure alignment with product strategy. Use Python to query, analyze, and automate workflows. Leverage advanced data analysis, statistical and data profiling techniques, and AI tools to identify trends, validate assumptions, and enhance the quality and utility of derived data. Apply statistical and AI‑driven techniques to validate, improve, and enhance datasets. Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, collaborating with clients and partners to ensure datasets are fit‑for‑purpose. Document methodologies, maintain as‑reported data lineage knowledge, and contribute to QA processes, while maintaining deep expertise on as‑reported data structure, coverage, and lineage to derived datasets. Deepen understanding of client workflows and data usage (via Terminal, BQL, Enterprise APIs) to define fit‑for‑purpose data quality metrics and drive data‑driven decisions. Track industry, regulatory, and scientific developments to guide product innovation. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, compliance, and Sales teams to support go‑to‑market strategies. Lead multiple initiatives to drive efficiency, innovation, and product impact. Requirements Please note we use years of experience as a guide but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role. 4+ years of experience in Sustainable Finance, preferably with sustainable finance‑related financial products. Basic knowledge of relational data modelling with a focus on conceptual data model and data normalization. Experience in engaging clients on integrating sustainable finance data into investment decision‑making. Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities with autonomy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, with a desire to improve and develop products. Excellent communication skills and partner management. Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of Sustainable Finance markets and data needs, with experience across disclosure frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, GRI). Master’s degree or advanced certification (e.g., CFA charterholder, CFA ESG, SASB FSA). Experience with large dataset manipulation, profiling, and defining requirements.
