Position SummaryResponsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market data to inform strategic sourcing decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks in the supply chain related to crop protection active ingredients. Experience in sourcing market intelligence and data from the Chinese and Indian markets is a must. Experience in the crop protection industry with a basic understanding of the regulatory framework is advantageous.Role ResponsibilitiesMarket Analysis: Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor activities, and supplier capabilities related to crop protection active ingredients (AIs) globally.Data Collection: Assess global data sources for crop protection chemicals, intermediates, and related raw materials from various sources, including industry reports, databases, and market surveys.Reporting: Develop and maintain market intelligence reports and dashboards, including a historical price database of relevant input materials and generic AIs.Supplier Capability: Assess and evaluate suppliers based on external market intelligence combined with internal metrics to support procurement strategies.Cost Analysis: Analyze cost structures on critical AIs with Procurement Managers to enable cost optimization and competitiveness.Risk Identification: Stay updated on market developments of competing molecules and generic entrants to provide early warning for strategy development.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with procurement teams and other stakeholders to ensure data supports business objectives.Networking: Establish a trusted knowledge network within the agrochemical and synthetic organic chemicals sectors.Collaboration: Work with other Gowan teams in adjacent areas related to the objectives of the Procurement Group.Education and ExperienceRequired education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Certifications: Professional certifications in procurement or market intelligence.Training: Statistical analysis methods (preferred).Experience / Skills / AbilitiesAnalytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions, incorporating statistical methods where applicable.Critical thinking: Ability to evaluate complex situations, foresee potential challenges, and devise strategic solutions.Research Skills: Ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present key information to diverse audiences.Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the crop protection business, with emphasis on active ingredient procurement.Experience: Substantial experience in procurement or market research, including import/export analysis.Experience: Substantial market research experience in China and/or India is required.Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, and related tools.Dashboard Development: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools.Language: English fluency required; Mandarin is desirable.Time in Role: At least five years of experience in Procurement Analysis.Job Expectations / Working ConditionsAbility to communicate effectively with a range of internal stakeholders.Attention to detail, sense of urgency, work ethic, and teamwork.Ability to adapt in a continuously changing environment.Willingness to travel as needed to meet suppliers and attend industry events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
