The company are long established within the black country for over 40 years, specializing the manufacture of precision components for a range of industry sectors. They pride themselves on manufacturing high-quality components using the latest technology and a machine shop boasting a range of CNC machinery and CAM software. They’ve got a very low turnover of staff, coupled with long-standing relationships with blue-chip companies globally. Benefits Benefits include an hourly rate of £15.00 p / h, paid overtime. Its 38 hrs per week 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday, Fridays flexi paid at OT time and a half. Responsibilities of the CNC Setter Programming of vertical turning lathes to machine precision, low volume components Writing new programmes as well as editing / modifying existing programmes as necessary Full machine setup and prove out including tooling, speeds, feeds and materials Manage updates and new components introduced First off part inspection using measuring equipment, before issuing to QC for final pass off Multiple setups during the day based on low volume of part manufacture Apply a continuous improvement approach to programmes to reduce scrap, waste, cycle time and tool life Skills and Experience Ability to write brand new programme using FANUC, or offline CAM software Strong knowledge of CNC turning, either horizontal or vertical Confident with high-frequency setups for 1 off and small batch manufacture Understand and interpret 2D & 3D drawings Flexibility towards overtime when required This is a genuine opportunity for a professional person who is highly motivated and can adopt a flexible approach to problem-solving within a team environment.
