Our client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work with high-quality machinery, modern equipment, and a business known for producing precision components ranging from 5mm up to 300mm in diameter.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Setting and operating CNC lathes with multi-horizontal, twin turret configurations.

*

Daily setting of XYZ axes and adjusting offsets to ensure consistent machining quality.

*

Using Fanuc controls to load, adjust, and optimise programs for efficient production.

*

Monitoring machines throughout the shift to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and smooth workflow.

*

Working from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

*

Carrying out tool changes, insert changes, and minor program edits as required.

*

Conducting first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks using standard measuring equipment.

*

Collaborating with supervisors and engineering teams to maintain productivity and resolve machining issues.

*

Ensuring safe working practices and maintaining a clean, organised work area.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Setter within a precision engineering environment.

*

Strong understanding of Fanuc controls.

*

Experience with twin-turret and multi-axis lathes is essential.

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

*

Confident performing tool changes, edits, and adjustments independently.

*

Comfortable machining a wide range of component sizes (5mm – 300mm).

*

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
