A Little More About Your Role We are seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and committed Senior Water Resources Consultant to support a range of projects undertaken by our Sustainable Water Management team spanning water resources planning, water policy and hydrology. You will have responsibility for technical delivery, project management and supporting winning new work through the development of proposals. The role focuses on existing UK water companies, regional groups and regulators but offers opportunity to work with a range of clients across a number of sectors, including potential projects beyond the UK in the EU and wider international projects. Responsibilities Lead technical delivery of water resource planning, hydrology, demand management, and options appraisal projects. Manage project scope, timelines and clients, including proposal development. Analyse and model water resources, applying simulation and hydrological modelling techniques. Collaborate across disciplines – hydrogeology, water quality, flood risk management and environmental impact assessment. Present findings to clients and stakeholders in clear, concise reports. Your Team Our Catchment Science team delivers integrated water resource planning services to the water industry, regulators and governments both in the UK and internationally, focusing on resilience of water systems under climate change and environmental pressures. What We Will Be Looking For Demonstrable experience in water resources management tools and broad planning experience in consultancy, water company, regulatory or academic settings. Understanding of the latest UK regulatory requirements, including the Water Resource Planning Guidelines. Experience with environmental destination, water resources modelling and/or demand management projects. Strong numerate and analytical skills to solve novel challenges. Some programming experience in Python and/or R, with interest in developing innovative solutions. Experience managing small projects or interest in developing project management skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to write high‑quality concise reports. Qualifications Degree‑level qualification in geography, hydrology, earth/environmental science, civil engineering or maths. Post‑graduate qualification in water resources management, hydrology or related discipline. Working towards or holding chartership with a relevant professional body.
