2nd Line Desktop Engineer Location: Carlisle (Onsite) Duration: 3 Months+ Rate : £140 outside IR35 Khuda Technology is seeking a skilled 2nd Line Desktop Engineer to join our clients team on a 3-month contract based onsite in Carlisle. The role involves providing hands‑on technical support, with a strong focus on rebuilding and configuring laptops, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting general desktop management. Responsibilities Provide 2nd line technical support for end users, resolving escalated incidents and service requests. Rebuild, configure, and deploy laptops and desktops to company standards. Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades as required. Assist with software installations, updates, and general device management. Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including asset tracking and documentation. Collaborate closely with the wider IT team to ensure efficient issue resolution and service delivery. Skills Proven experience in a 2nd Line Desktop Support or similar IT support role. Strong hands‑on experience rebuilding and configuring laptops / desktops. Good knowledge of Windows 10 / 11 environments. Familiarity with general desktop management and basic software deployment tools. Exposure to SCCM is a plus but not essential.
