The REC team comprises experts in Asset Management, Business Case development, Benefits Management, Corporate Real Estate and Change management who deliver on large programmes and projects.We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support Defence and Healthcare sector projects, providing benefits management, business case and real estate strategies to key clients. Reporting to the Benefits Management Lead, you will lead and support on multiple projects, manage your own workload, and work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Standout recent deliverables include setting up and managing a full portfolio benefits management function for the Defence Estate Optimisation Portfolio and for the Government & NHS England\'s New Hospital Programme. We also produce evidence-based funding applications and business cases to support regeneration and service improvements, and innovate to maximise client property portfolio efficiency.Your BackgroundYou must be able to demonstrate one or more of the following:Experience in Benefits Management in a major programme or portfolio environmentExperience working on built environment projects as a senior consultant or project managerConsultative background in Strategic Estates or Business Case authoringExperience on transformational programmes and projects in the public or private sectors, with a focus on defence, healthcare or governmentEssential FunctionsUnderstand benefits and how they are derived through the Business Case, and how these relate from individual initiatives to a central program functionEngage with client leadership and representatives; conduct interviews; run workshops; analyse and present benefits dataAnalyse client data to translate business/work processes into baselines, targets and KPIsManage commissions to meet fee objectives, organise resources, and be responsible for invoicingProvide regular client communications on project progressMeet with clients to develop options, refine concepts and prepare final documents for approvalSupport the wider Advisory team in developing a thought leadership strategy for Benefits Management consultingIdentify Benefits Management and Real Estate opportunitiesContribute to bid proposalsSkillsKnowledge of Benefits within project outcomes and Business Case contextUnderstanding of Benefits Management at Programme/Portfolio level including governance and reportingStrong strategic planning and project management capabilitiesExcellent time management for multiple projectsExcellent written and verbal communicationCustomer service orientation and interpersonal skills across dutiesAbility to apply emerging best practices and industry innovations to client needsAbility to interact with senior client leadersAnalytical skills; data interpretation; ability to present solutions clearly; proficiency in Excel and PowerPointAbility to work effectively in a matrix environment and both independently and in a teamProject management and organisational skillsQualifications5+ years in Benefits Management, Business Case compilation, Defence major initiatives, or Business AnalysisDegree preferable but not mandatoryOne or more of: PRINCE2, MSP, MRICS, APM, Better Business Cases, or other professional qualificationsExperience in project management or real estate consulting projectsExperience using technology and benefits/real estate dataExperience delivering benefits/real estate solutions and strategies within a corporate environmentExperience engaging with stakeholders in complex environmentsAdditional InformationWe offer a great place to work that supports success in work and life, promoting a healthy, productive and flexible environment that respects work-life balance.
