The RoleWe’re seeking talented graduates to join our Civil Engineering team in Birmingham and Newark. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects that respond to the challenges of urban growth, sustainability, and resilience. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high‑performing consultancy where technical excellence is the norm. Your Impact In This PositionAs a Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll support the technical delivery of projects across the full lifecycle – from concept design to construction. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, attend client meetings and site visits, and produce technical drawings and calculations that meet industry standards. With mentorship from senior engineers and a structured learning programme, you’ll build the skills and confidence needed to progress toward chartership and beyond. What To Expect Mentorship & Support – learn from experienced professionals and receive guidance from a dedicated technical mentor. Structured Learning – benefit from formal training, project‑based learning, and self‑directed study. Personal Development – build consultancy skills through technical and interpersonal training with regular feedback and reviews. Community – induct with your peers and join a supportive network. Programme Highlights Central induction and ongoing support from line manager and mentor. In‑depth technical training in core discipline and exposure to 15 technical and 8 interpersonal topics. Quarterly development reviews to track progress. Opportunities to shadow senior colleagues and contribute to diverse projects. Your PathwayYou’ll be assigned a location, cost centre, line manager, and a home technical discipline based on your qualifications and business needs. If you wish to explore a different discipline at the end of the programme, we’ll consider this based on your interests and business requirements. Chartered Management Institute (CMI) PartnershipAccess the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online bite‑size programs. Choose topics such as Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data‑Driven Decision Making to build leadership and management skills. Application and Selection ProcessSubmit an up‑to‑date CV detailing academic background, relevant experience, and motivation. All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt. Shortlisted candidates will complete an online assessment evaluating key competencies and problem‑solving skills. Successful candidates will attend a final assessment – an in‑person interview or assessment centre depending on location and discipline.
