Responsibilities and Duties of the Procurement Manager role Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will : Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with project goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability on sourcing. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and value engineering in procurement activities. Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with company procedures and requirements. Lead contract negotiations, develop contract tender documentation & formulate tender comparisons following a tender process. Ensure procurement activities comply with environmental, health and safety regulations specific to the waste to energy sector. Develop and manage procurement budgets for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring that all purchases stay within allocated budget. Prepare and present regular procurement reports to senior management. Ensure accurate records of all procurement activities and transactions are maintained for audit and compliance purposes. Professional qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or APICS are preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Demonstrated experience with procurement in the energy, or heavy engineering sectors – waste to energy experience would be particularly beneficial. A proven track record of managing mid to large scale procurement operations, including complex equipment sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management. Proficient in MS Office and procurement software. Salary and benefits of the Procurement Manager role Salary between £55,000-£60,000 per annum. Excellent company pension.
