Senior Sister/Ward Manager

To provide ward leadership for Ward 1 and will lead on continuous improvement of the patient safety and quality agendas, including safe staffing and roster management, management and learning from incidents, consistency in the delivery of fundamentals of care, and leadership and management of the nursing team.Main duties of the jobKey ResponsibilitiesAccountable for the quality of care delivered on Ward 1 by the team.Ensure initial assessment is completed within the ward KPI'sEnsure timely management of acutely unwell patientsEnsure the Ward works effectively, maintaining quality and safety whilst using resources and allocated budgets efficiently.Responsible for the management of the Ward and line management of team members.Ensure team members have identified development needs and a development plan.Works collaboratively and co-operatively with others to develop services provided for patients within the Ward.About usWalsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit.
