Responsibilities Have a full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle; public transport is not accepted. Provide an advanced standard of clinical assessment, evidence‑based advice and education to prevent and manage wounds for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. Support the tissue viability team with the allocation of beds and pressure‑relieving equipment for ICES within Cambridgeshire. Deliver evidence‑based advice and education to individuals with tissue viability problems. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to prevent admission, support early discharge and provide ongoing or shared care for patients with wounds. Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with advice and support from senior colleagues. Participate in evidence‑based audit and research projects. Provide advice and education to the public and other healthcare professionals. Plan, implement and evaluate individualised specialist patient care programmes based on evidence‑based practice and clinical reasoning skills. Provide supervision to health care professionals in relation to preventing pressure ulcers/Moisture‑Associated Skin Damage (MASD), other wounds, use of equipment and all aspects of managing incontinence. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including management of patients in your care. Organise the job role effectively, prioritising clinical tasks and making efficient use of time. Act as a patient advocate through the application of critical and professional knowledge and skills. Communicate highly sensitive information regarding patients’ medical conditions with a high degree of skill, persuading change, influencing and improving practice. Demonstrate empathy, reassurance and negotiating skills to encourage patient compliance, particularly with learning disability and mental health groups. Provide advice to palliative care services in wound and equipment management as appropriate. Promote better understanding of wound, MASD and equipment prevention and management to patients, families, carers and other agencies through education and support. Ensure personal clinical skills are regularly updated to specialist level as required by Lead Clinician. Participate in research and clinical trials in accordance with Clinical Governance and Trust policy. Involve service users, carers and other professionals in clinical management plans where required.
