We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic newly qualified salaried GP(within the last two years without a substantive post)to join the team at St James Medical Centre for 6-8 sessions per week. We are based in leafy Rossendale close to good motorway links and accessible from Manchester, Bury, Rochdale and East Lancs. We are a well run practice and can offer good admin and nurse support along with regular peer support over great coffee Main duties of the job The role encompasses the following: Provide GP services to a population of 8,500 including a share of the following workload. Face to face consultation and telephone triage where needed including visits as necessary. Admin, pathology results, EPS. We have a correspondance management system in place which minimises GP input. Attendance and input into practice meetings, GSF, learning reviews etc Supervision of junior clinical staff. Involvement in quality improvement work. About us The successful applicant will join a supportive team of 7 GPS, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, PA and Physio, 3 Practice nurses,1 HCA, 2 Phlebotomists and a large admin team. We therefore suggest that you apply at an early stage to avoid disappointment Job responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Maintaining the highest clinical standards at all times and in accordance with accepted good medical practice, relevant National and local clinical guidelines and various clinical protocols of the practice. Transmission of relevant clinical information of patients to other medical and nursing staff both within and external, regarding patients under care of those referred to other places for further treatment of follow-up. Encourage and support the GP provision of the services to promote the medical and clinical services delivery in a timely manner as per CCG Keep up to date with advances in medicine and practices. Undertake annual appraisal and revalidation. Attend practice education meetings, business meetings, PHCT meetings. Undertake home visits, and care of practice patients in nursing homes or residential homes. Promote the application of standards, protocols and codes of practice as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, all other Royal Colleges and Councils applicable to the staff within the practice, Department of Health, Primary Care Trusts and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations Assist in the delivery of the service and promotion of policies made by the practice Contribute to the development of ideas, strategies and policies which will promote efficiency and well-being of the service delivery by attending practice business meetings Ensure patient notes are fit for purpose, information entered on EMIS Web and filed in accordance with appropriate protocol Good prescribing and medicines management. NICE guidance and DH directives Good Prescribing Practice as defined by British National Formulary (BNF) guidance from Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on the safe and secure handling of medicines Controlled Drugs legislation Shared protocols agreed between the PCT and other NHS providers Locally specified Patient Group Directions Have in place suitable guidance to ensure that when referrals made for patients to see other medical service providers are kept within local guidelines, adequate information is given to the personnel to whom the patient has been referred for proper assessment to be made Be supportive of any complaints policy and procedure to ensure proper investigation and appropriate follow-up action in the event of a complaint being made against any aspect of the service provided or any personal provider of the service Maintain confidentiality in line with professional standards This job description is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time during the employer and employee review at appraisal.
