Responsibilities Responsible for administering specialist apheresis/complex treatment pathways/procedure. Administration of Blood products in line with Trust policy. To work in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines and as a named nurse for a defined group of patients and work within boundaries recognising personal accountability for: Providing positive clinical leadership, working collaboratively with the senior nursing and clinical teams to promote high standards of specialist apheresis care and the effective running of the clinical service. Acting as a professional role model providing direct and indirect expert apheresis clinical care that is evidence-based, and supports the professional development of others through the provision of ongoing specialist training. To assist in supporting the delivery of high quality, safe and effective apheresis care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients. To support specialist apheresis services providing specialist nursing expertise across the two sites. Candidate Profile We are looking for experienced, motivated, and compassionate senior nurses with a strong background in haemoglobinopathies or haematology, ideally gained in acute settings such as: Emergency Departments (ED) Intensive Care Units (ITU) Renal Units Haematology Inpatient Wards or Day Care Units Successful candidates will work across multiple sites to ensure equitable access to elective and emergency red cell exchange services. Full training and supervision will be provided to support your development within this specialist service.
