Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus DOE 

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing building services consultancy team. The role involves delivering mechanical building services design, providing technical advice to clients, and supporting multi-disciplinary project teams across a wide range of development types.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical design for commercial, industrial, medical, residential, retail, mixed-use and extra-care schemes.
Produce technical drawings, reports and specifications.
Liaise directly with clients and external teams on technical matters.
Manage and coordinate projects, suppliers and contractors.
Promote sustainable design principles.
Use industry-standard software, including EDSL TAS.
Apply detailed knowledge of relevant British Standards, Codes of Practice and regulations.

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Proven experience in mechanical building services design.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to prioritise workload and work collaboratively within a team.
Desire to contribute to business growth and personal career development.
 Desirable:
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE).
Understanding of sustainable design principles.
Engineering Council registration.
Full UK driving licence.
