We are looking to recruit adoctor(s) to provide day to day medical care, in conjunction with themulti-disciplinary team, to patients and their carers for all clinical serviceKatharine House Hospice is keen to promote palliative medicine in thewider community and is involved in undergraduate medical education to studentsfrom both Keele and Birmingham Universities and also offers educational supportto resident doctors at the University Hospital of North Midlands. Including:Jointadmission of patients to the inpatient unit with the nursing teamAllaspects of clinical care whilst on the inpatient unitLiaisewith patients general practitioner and consultant(s) regarding theirprevious and on-going medical careUndertakepatient-related administration to ensure successful discharge e.g.discharge letters, advance care planning documents and take homemedications and community authorisationsTake partin the weekend on call rota for the inpatient unitAttend dailymulti-disciplinary team patient handover meetings.Toparticipate in research/evaluation, clinical governance and auditactivities that contribute to the development of evidence-based practiceand high standards of clinical care. To attend senior clinicians meetings.Contributeto teaching and training sessions, both formal and informal, which aid thedevelopment of clinical knowledge within the multi-disciplinary team.
