Candidates must hold UK recognised PG Certificate/PG Diploma or Certificate in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent and registered with the HCPC /NMC. Kindly requesting previous unsuccessful applicants not to apply again. Responsibilities Perform high quality ultrasound examinations using analytical and judgement skills to interpret complex images. Formulate comprehensive, diagnostic, independently written reports for each examination. Communicate distressing and unwelcome/unexpected news directly to patients using tact, empathy and diplomacy. Communicate complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly to clinicians and patients. Maintain personal clinical expertise in ultrasound scanning including ongoing CPD. Review, update and maintain the patients clinical records. Participate in teaching students and clinicians in the field of ultrasound. Participate in the vetting of ultrasound requests. Deal with conflicting demands from different staff groups at all levels. Have flexible approach to work and ability to work under pressure of high workloads.
