We are looking for a Band 6 Palliative Care Nurse to join our community team in West Cumbria. This is an exciting opportunity to specialise in palliative and end‑of‑life care, supporting patients and families through some of life's most critical moments. You will provide expert specialist advice, guidance and support to patients, carers/relatives, clinical practitioners, and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be instrumental in assessing, planning and delivering compassionate, high‑quality care, while also sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues. While your primary base will be in West Cumbria, there may be occasions to support other parts of the service, including hospital settings or East Cumbria, providing continuity of care across the region. If you are motivated, caring, and eager to make a meaningful impact, this role offers the chance to develop your skills in a specialist area of nursing that truly matters. Main duties of the job Deliver expert palliative care to patients with complex needs across diverse community and home settings. Manage symptoms and provide holistic support to patients and their families. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Advise, educate and support colleagues and carers, promoting best practice in palliative care. Person Specification Qualifications Evidence of sustained personal & professional development Educated to degree level or equivalent Advanced communication skills training/qualification from a recognised body Evidence of sustained personal and professional development. Evidence of recent study at Masters/post graduate/Highly specialist level in relevant area.
