You will play an integral part in helping to train our junior staff to develop their skills and careers.About the pathology serviceOur well-designed, up-to-date lab includes Grifols analysers in blood transfusion, blood track and Contronics temperature monitoring. In haematology and coagulation we have Sysmex XNs and ACL TOPS. For quality management we use the Q-Pulse system and we are upgrading our LIMS (WinPath Enterprise). The pathology service is part of the collaborative East Coast Pathology Network.Specialist Biomedical Scientist Job InformationResponsibilitiesMaintain the quality management system and UKAS accreditation.Train less experienced staff and validate and authorise results to provide a quality service for patients.Resolve complex equipment or process problems and perform manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations, including specialist investigations, within the defined service area.Participate in day-to-day stock control and usage, including maintaining Blood Transfusion and Haematology stock levels and records and monitoring usage for efficient use where appropriate.About ESNEFTEast Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) provides hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.
