The successful candidate will support the Estates and Facilities team by carrying out a wide range of maintenance, grounds, and compliance duties across all Lancaster Medical Practice sites. This includes planned and reactive works, general handyman repairs, routine gardening tasks, and essential statutory compliance checks. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, and external areas remain safe, well-maintained and compliant with relevant regulations. The post holder will work in line with all LMP policies, procedures, Health & Safety and CQC requirements. Responsibilities Carry out repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, hinges and internal fabric. Complete decoration work including painting, filling and touch-ups. Undertake plumbing tasks such as unblocking sinks, replacing tap washers and resolving small leaks. Replace consumables such as light bulbs, batteries, ceiling tiles and signage. Assist with internal moves, furniture assembly and safe storage. Support site-based staff by responding to reactive maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner. Undertake minor repairs before escalating more complex tasks to contractors. Complete legionella control tasks including weekly flushing, temperature monitoring and accurate record keeping. Conduct routine fire safety checks including monthly manual call point tests and emergency lighting checks. Assist with scheduled fire evacuation drills across all sites. Maintain compliance logs and submit findings to the Estates & Facilities Manager. Carry out planned and reactive grounds maintenance at all LMP sites. Maintain gardens, landscaped areas and car parks to a high standard throughout the year. Strim, mow, prune and carry out seasonal planting and watering. Operate and maintain grounds machinery including mowers, blowers and sweepers. Reinstate any areas damaged by weather or general use. Clear light wells, gullies and drains of leaves and waste.
