This will be for Anthro Joint Venture (VVB Engineering and Egis).Working in the Anthro design office, London, 3 days week, and attending site meetings at Old Oak Common where required.You will be responsible for an area of work in the production, checking and design coordination of BWIC works.As an engineer you will work under the direction of a senior member for the BWIC, coordinating with our MEPHFC designers, client BBVS, and third-party work packages.With support you will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget.This will include:Design Management of a coordinated BIM federated modelProduce evidence of clash detection resolution and RFI acceptance with respect to BWICCoordination and agreement of building services opening positions with our CREs/Lead Engineers, and third partiesAgreement of BWIC with respect to fire stopping solution, led by our Fire EngineerStructural review of design and third-party proprietary systems, including; reinforced concrete, precast concrete, steelwork, blockwork, and DfMA/bracketry etc.Lead and support with ad-hoc site support team queries, and ensure any design changes are captured and tracked through the design processSupport senior staff at meetings with the Client and Principal Designer to escalate issues, evidence coordination and record actions via RFIGeneral DutiesTo complete tasks to relevant engineering standards meeting the requirements of the client remit, as well as relevant legislation, company standards, and client procedures.Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary design team to ensure that civil / structural design deliverables meet HS2 / Network Rail standards / building regulationsProduce and prepare design in accordance with HS2, Eurocodes, and NR-L2-CIV-003 (Engineering and Architectural Assurance of Building and Civil Engineering Works)Produce and civil / structural engineering design drawings, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation to HS2 / Network Rail standards / Building regulationsProduce and coordinate engineering activities so that they result in civil / structural schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality.Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and NR/L2/OHS/0047On projects will report to Project Directors and/or Design Leads, depending on project size / workload.This role may also include working on projects internationally for EGIS Transport Solutions or other EGIS subsidiaries.QualificationsEssential:Technical qualifications to degree in relevant subject BEng/MEngAbility to communicate effectively to deliver on time and to programmeAbility to follow instruction and undertake design interfaces and integration by following agreed processesExperience of working in an engineering production environmentExperience in the railway industryExperience in following procedures to ensure a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality throughout all design stage gatesGood knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfLKnowledge of all relevant BIM standards, design integration procedures and relevant legislationCITB CSCS schemeYOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UKDesirable:Professional Engineer Registration status with the Engineering Council (UK) and be registered with an appropriate professional institutionLeadership skills and mentoring experienceExperience of supporting the organisation to build and grow successfullyAn appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works, including low carbon designIT competence in remote working and facilitation of digital workshopsKnowledge of quality assurancePTS AC/DCAdditional InformationEquality, Diversity & InclusionWe at EGIS are an Equal Opportunities employer and we recognise the value of a Diverse Organisation.
