POPULOUS is an award-winning, international design practice specialising in sport and entertainment venues that draw people and communities together for unforgettable experiences.

The Populous London Studio is looking for a Design Coordinator to be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation of the design process by effectively coordinating various tasks and activities among team members and stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on facilitating collaboration, organising design tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring the highest standards of design quality. The design managers focus will be within RIBA Stages Stage 0-4.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- **Client collaboration -** engage with clients to comprehensively understand project requirements, expectations, and design preferences. Foster open communication channels to ensure client feedback is effectively incorporated into the design process, resulting in solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
- **Assist in organising and prioritising design tasks -** Work closely with the Design Manager to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules and task lists. Prioritise design tasks based on project objectives, deadlines, and resource availability, ensuring efficient allocation of team resources and timely delivery of milestones.
- **Coordinate communication between design teams and external clients -** Act as a central point of contact for internal design team members and external consultants, facilitating clear and effective communication channels. Ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed of project developments, changes, and requirements to maintain alignment and collaboration throughout the design processes.
- **Track design progress and milestones -** Utilise project management tools and systems to monitor and track the progress of design activities against established timelines and milestones. Proactively identify potential delays or bottlenecks and implement strategies to mitigate risks and keep the project on track for timely completion.
- **Implement design quality control measures - **Establish and enforce design quality standards and procedures to uphold the integrity and excellence of the design output. Coordinate regular reviews and audits of design deliverables to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- **Facilitate resolution to design-related issues and concerns - **Act as a mediator and problem solver to design issues and concerns that may arise during the course of the project. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify root causes, explore potential solutions, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and minimise impact on project progress and outcomes.

**Qualifications and skills**
- BSc degree in Architecture, Project management, or related field.
- Proven experience in coordination design activities and tasks within a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with clients, team members, and external consultants.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of prioritising tasks and managing deadlines.

- This position may require occasional travel to project sites and/or client meetings.
