Job Description

JOB ROLE: SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

LOCATION: FAREHAM

SALARY: £50,000 - £55,000 plus excellent benefits

Our client, a fast-growing and award-winning consultancy, is looking to add to their team a Senior Civil Engineer.

Qualifications required for the Senior Civil Engineer post:

  1. Preferred: Incorporated Engineer (IEng) [or working towards] with the Institution of Civil Engineers
  2. A degree or HND in Civil Engineering

Experience required to be considered for the role of Senior Civil Engineer:

  1. 5+ years' consultancy experience
  2. Experience working with local authorities, developers, and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial, and retirement/care schemes
  3. Varied experience working on schemes through the planning process; from pre-app through to condition discharge
  4. Civil engineering project management experience including projects combining drainage, external works, and highways elements

Role Specific Requirements:

  1. Work within a Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes
  2. Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects, and local authorities
  3. Undertake and manage team resource for design work for:
  • Drainage systems in accordance with Sewers for Adoption, building regulations, and the SuDS Manual
  • On and off-site highway features, in accordance with the appropriate standards and codes e.g. Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, and Manual for Streets
Be responsible for writing fee proposalsProficient in AutoCAD and Site 3D or equivalent 3D softwareHave knowledge of and willing to learn other engineering softwareReviewing of junior team members' reports, design, and drawing workAttend client meetings and site visitsCo-operate with the Quality Management System (QMS) through undertaking administrative activitiesMentoring and training of junior staffSupport our regional offices and other departments through knowledge sharing
