Technical Services Supervisor – Equans UK & Ireland We are looking for a Technical Services Supervisor to work on behalf of our Tameside General Hospital contract in Ashton‑under‑Lyne. This is a permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week) with a competitive salary and benefits package. Overview Based at Tameside General Hospital, you will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the contract. You will guide on‑site staff, providing technical expertise in facilities management delivery, ensuring compliant solutions and efficient customer service. Key Responsibilities Accountable to the Technical Services Manager for day‑to‑day supervision, monitoring and performance of the contract. Manage workflow across the team, working closely with the helpdesk to provide efficient maintenance delivery. Supervise a multi‑discipline mechanical/electrical/fabric workforce. Support the TSM in planning and implementing change to improve service and operational quality and customer satisfaction. Facilitate cooperation between Technical, Security, Helpdesk and Client staff. Balance and allocate Planned Works, Reactive Works and Lifecycle works to ensure contract compliance with SLA timeframes. Install, commission and service plant equipment and industrial furniture. Diagnose faults, debug and commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through the PPM programme. Price minor works projects for both in‑house and contracted works. Ensure maintenance and other records are maintained to an appropriate standard and in accordance with site policy. Take on Authorised Person, Competent Person or Responsible Person duties once fully trained and site aware. Interface with suppliers and service providers to meet service needs. Carry out return‑to‑work interviews and other HR‑type interventions as necessary. Lead and organise team meetings, delivering toolbox talks and other training. Escalate issues to the TSM as appropriate. Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution. Supervise and participate in the on‑call system. Assist other EQUANS Healthcare contracts if required. Use CAFM knowledge and experience, running reports, interrogating the system, analysing workload, etc. Train to become an authorised person in various disciplines. Impact In this role you will play a vital part in ensuring operations are legally and contractually compliant, representing excellence in service delivery. Qualifications & Experience Strong customer focus with experience delivering high‑standard customer service; previous FM experience within a hospital or PFI environment is an advantage. Good knowledge, experience and understanding of HTMs, with current training or experience in RP/AP duties in at least two of the following: water management (Legionella), ventilation in healthcare premises, medical gases, etc. Complete apprenticeship or qualification within a mechanical/electrical background. Understanding of HR‑related items. Sound awareness of risk assessment and safe working with equipment. Experience with HVAC, pump systems, medical gases, steam systems, pressure systems, water systems and legionella preferred. Knowledge of Building Management Systems. Sound knowledge of practical implementation of health & safety. Full driving licence required. Authorised Person experience.
