Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Senior LED in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Digital Research ST5+). We are seeking doctors wishing to take out of programme experience from specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at ST4-5+. This research post will focus on data analysis and digital architecture working closely with Professor Jenny Myers and Dr. Vicki Palin at the University of Manchester. Candidates will be expected to register for an MPhil with the University of Manchester and be out of programme for a minimum of two years. Candidate who wish to extend the out of programme experience will be able to convert to a MD. The research component of the position will occupy 60% of the post and be based at St. Mary’s Hospital ORC, the clinical component will occupy 40% with sessions and on call based at NMG.ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Fellow will work on the Tier 3 on-call rota, and as such will take on the responsibilities associated with this role, which is equivalent to that of a ST5+ trainee. The Clinical Fellow will be supervised by a consultant. The Clinical Fellow will need to respect the roles of others within a multidisciplinary team and communicate with them appropriately. The purpose of the Digital Fellow post is to enable full realisation of the Trust’s EPR Hive (EPIC) which is fully integrated into all clinical departments. Working closely the SMH CIO Prof. Jenny Myers candidates will become qualified “EPIC builders” with skills ready for the next decades of medical care. The purpose of the Education Fellow post is to enable interested ST to develop an interest in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education. Trainees will work with undergraduate and post graduate consultant leads and the director of SMMCS PGME to develop and deliver education programmes across the ORC and NMG campuses.QualificationsApplicants must have out of programme experience from specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at ST4-5+.
