Overview Basic Salary: Scale 6: £32,061 - £33,699 per annum, with the ability to earn an additional £5,000 per annum through enhanced payments. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Blackpool to support young people to live happy, safe, healthy and fulfilled lives. The role involves providing essential staff cover at our 24‑hour Ofsted registered supported accommodation home as a Young Persons Resettlement Officer (Support Worker). Key Responsibilities Manage the day‑to‑day running of the house and support young people to reach their full potential, inspiring, motivating and positively influencing them for community integration. Provide support to empower young people to maintain accommodation, learn life‑skills such as cooking and money management to enhance future prospects. Encourage young people into further education, training and employment; set clear goals and involve them in meaningful activities while developing links with statutory and community services. Ensure the safety and security of the building, conduct regular health and safety checks, room checks, assist with fire risk assessments and ensure all repairs are completed within required timescales. Identify and deal with safeguarding concerns; carry out thorough risk assessments and liaise with other professionals, implementing control measures to reduce and manage risk. Qualifications & Experience 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Experience working with young people with a range of support needs. Knowledge of young people’s rights and a clear understanding of professional boundaries. Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce is essential; if not held, the employer will support you to obtain it. A confident communicator, calm under pressure, and capable of remaining professional in challenging situations. Willingness to travel across both sites and cover sleep‑in duties, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as per a rota. Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB).
