Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Portland, working with children aged 11 to 18 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will be there to support students in their academic journey, helping them reach their full potential.
Location: Portland (Dorset)
Contract Type: Full Time, Temp-Perm
Start Date: Immediate Start/April 2025
Hours: 08:30am - 15:15pm Monday - Friday
Salary: £13.09 per hour
The role will consist of:
- Providing tailored support while working with children and SEN
- Creating a safe environment that allows children to have fun, learn, and succeed
- Providing academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Helping with setting up and occasionally leading group activities
- Maintaining a high standard of behaviour management
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience working with children
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and patience
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team
- A passion for making a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
