People Advisor Band 5 Post – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Job Summary We have an opportunity for the exciting role of People Advisor within a busy, supportive and dynamic People Operations Team. Main Duties Provide an efficient and visible HR service, giving policy advice and guidance, and supporting managers to achieve compliance with workforce key performance indicator targets. Understand and present risk‑based advice in line with policy to staff and managers, including complex employee relations cases. Deliver high‑performance service – sustain ownership of the HR advisory service for your Division, provide information at ward reviews, support investigations, disciplinary and appeal hearings, and deliver results. Present confidently to audiences and develop/deliver training on absence, performance, appraisals and HR policies to enable line managers’ autonomy of practice. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law, update HR policies, and become competent in Job Evaluation. Communicate clearly with strong verbal and written skills, deliver outstanding HR service under pressure, and manage time and prioritisation effectively. Person Specification Essential Live membership of the CIPD or working towards it. Up‑to‑date knowledge of the HR legal framework. Experience in absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary management and change management. Evidence of continuous professional development. Generalist HR experience; knowledge of best practice; ability to work independently and handle competing demands. Experience delivering frontline advice and guidance on conditions of employment and employee relation issues. Desirable HR knowledge achieved through relevant training and experience to degree/diploma level. Degree or general management qualification. Experience supporting and delivering management training and presentations.
