As we scale across domestic and international markets, we are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to support our finance function and contribute towards our next phase of growth.About the RoleReporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial story. You will be responsible for delivering insightful reporting, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, and managing key areas including tax, audit, payroll, and treasury.This is a broad and hands-on role, requiring both technical expertise and operational oversight. You will maintain and enhance financial systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes that enable business growth.As Financial Controller, you will oversee the full range of finance department activities – from setting targets and supporting departmental budgeting, through to driving operational excellence and ensuring robust financial governance.What you will doPerform month end tasks and prepare and present monthly management accounts across all regions – UK, Ireland and NordicsMonitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify variances and provide insightful analysisPrepare year-end adjustments and oversee production of statutory accounts, liaising with external personnelPrepare the company to be ready for audit in the next 18 monthsEnsure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements under UK GAAPResponsible for the timely completion of various tax reporting requirements such as payrolling benefits, VAT returns and corporation taxOversee financial data collection, validation, and maintenance to ensure accuracy and consistencyCollaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts; split via department, region and consolidatedLead payroll activities in coordination with HR, maintain compliance with relevant regulations across multiple jurisdictionsManage treasury, ensuring sufficient working capital whilst maximising interest receivableConduct internal audits and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reportingProvide coaching, performance feedback and support career development for direct reportsWork closely with the FD on other ad-hoc tasks as requiredSkills and QualificationsStrong IT skills, particularly MS OfficeStrong experience working with financial systems; knowledge of Xero is a plusMedTech industry experience preferable but not mandatoryProactive team player that is confident to make suggestionsStrong stakeholder focus and the ability to build strong, stable relationshipsAbility to work well to deadlines, while paying attention to the detail and accuracyAdaptability and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive resultsWhat We OfferAn opportunity to work in a purpose-driven growing business where you can make a real impactCollaborative and supportive work culture with opportunities for professional developmentCompetitive salary based on experience25 days annual leave + bank holidaysCompany pension schemePrivate medical insuranceLife insuranceFriendly and supportive team cultureExposure to the full accounting cycle and wider business operationsOther DetailsReporting to: Finance DirectorHours: Full TimeLocation: Head Office, NewburyEquipment / software packages used: Microsoft, Power BI, Xero, FathomThis Job description is not exhaustive but outlines the main requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
