About the role We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer / Technician / Fitter with a minimum of three years’ experience to join our team working on materials-handling and heavy-plant applications. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong mechanical skills, particularly in hydraulics, and a willingness to apply basic electrical knowledge. Key responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish heavy‑plant equipment and materials‑handling systems to a high standard. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including hoses and cylinders. Provide basic electrical fault‑finding and maintenance support (wiring, controls, sensors) – not essential but a strong advantage. Collaborate with other team members to support installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Keep accurate records of work carried out, parts used and report on equipment performance. Required experience / skills At least 3 years’ relevant post‑qualification experience in mechanical engineering/technician roles, involving heavy plant or materials handling. Proven experience with hydraulics – servicing, fault‑finding and repair. Strong mechanical aptitude – comfortable working on heavy‑duty equipment. Basic electrical knowledge is an advantage (e.g., wiring, control circuits, sensors). Good communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work off‑site when required. Proactive approach and commitment to safety. Full, clean driving licence. What we offer Competitive Salary based on proven experience and qualifications. 22 days annual holiday. Additional holiday day on your birthday. Holiday entitlement increases after 5 years of service. A stable and supportive working environment with opportunity for development.
